San Diego High Rise

Blending two generations in a vacation home where they could also have their individual privacy was the goal of this total remodel. The tandem condominiums were in a 1980’s high rise building with low ceilings, outdated finishes, immovable plumbing and mechanical elements. The designer and architect R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA, raised the ceilings to open the space and expose more of the previously concealed windows and beautiful view. A hidden door was installed for easy access between the two condominiums and custom furniture was designed to allow for as much seating as possible for entertainment and family gatherings.
